Until very recently I had given up on skinny jeans. They clung to every inch of my body I hated and sagged in areas that should ~ never ~ be saggy (I’m looking at you kneecaps). So I’ve lived in Mom jeans or straight fit jeans. Until more recently, I had the opportunity to take part in a denim campaign with Monki. I saw they had a pretty cute pair of mid-rise skinnies so I decided that they were worth a try, but in all honesty, expecting to love the Mom pair they sent me more and never wear the skinnies.
If it wasn’t obvious enough yet ~ shock horror ~ I love the skinny jeans. What is their magic?! I don’t know. But they cling to me in the perfect places, tight on the booty but a little looser on the tummy. Wrinkles showing they’re not spray painted on but no baggy knees They’re suuuuper stretchy which makes them really comfy, but also fairly think material so you can feel the quality in them. Also, that means they won’t wear through/rip in about 10 minutes like those high street skinnies we all can’t seem to stray from (I, for one, will never buy again though).
As I see it, jeans should be an easy option. They’re a wardrobe basic to me, I want to have 3-4 trusty pairs that I know I can throw on whenever I want but will always look good and be comfortable. I want to go through my day without pulling and adjusting and worrying about whether they’ll split when I bend down to pet my pup ( ~ cough ~ Orson jeans). The Mocki jeans give me all of this.
I guess I’m trying to say two things here really, high street stores – step your game up because Monki is lapping you and if you fell out of love with skinny jeans check out this pair because I promise you’ll fall back into love.
