Red Carpet Chemical Skin Peel | Renovo Aesthetics

We all want perfect skin, right? Some go to crazy extremes, some spend fortunes on luxury skincare or invest massive amounts of time in elaborate 10 step routines. I’m none of those people, I’m lazy. I want it quick, easy and enjoyable.

In an ideal world, I would love to only ever wear eye makeup – if that. But I’m not confident enough with my skin to do this all the time so I generally wear at least highlighter and concealer. So recently I started looking into ways to feel more confident in my own skin and I stumbled across Renovo Aesthetics. More specifically, I stumbled across (or down the rabbit hole of) their Instagram page.

I can’t be the only one who finds videos of people getting fillers done insanely satisfying!?!

There are a few treatments I looked into doing, including regular skin peels, a non-surgical rhinoplasty and perhaps a touch of lip filler. I decided to go with a peel first, after that I would be able to get a feel for the clinic and the girls there before going through with something more serious.

So, I booked in for a ZO skin peel.

I won’t bore you by pretending to know the ins an outs of how the peel works. But essentially it goes on a bit like a face mask but it removes dead skin cells and stimulates the growth of new ones. More information on how it works, risks and more here.

Translation: the glowiest skin of your life.

I was a little nervous before going in for the peel if I’m honest. Doesn’t chemical peel sound horrifically painful? But it actually wasn’t painful at all.  Branwen warned me at one point that it could sting and would get warm. But it actually didn’t hurt and the warmth was actually really pleasant!

^ morning before

Before I had the peel done my skin was fairly clear but I had a lot of texture. I normally exfoliate daily and use The Ordinary’s lactic acid solution each night to try and combat my uneven texture but it does little help.

^ day after

For the rest of the day after the peel I was literally glowing like GLOWING. Almost to the point where it was a little too much. The next day it calmed down and I had more of an inner glow that was absolutely beautiful. But, more importantly (to me) my skin was really smooth and clean. Branwen did warn me I could have redness for a couple of days and I could break out but I only had one spot come out that was already there. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised as I expected there to be a lot more downsides and to have to stick at it for a long time before seeing benefits.

Now I can’t wait to book in for my next treatment!

If you’re interested in getting this treatment or any others at Renovo, I am more than happy to answer any of your questions via Instagram DM. Alternatively, you can find them here: Website, Instagram, Facebook, Email Form.

All the best, Becky Lou xx
